Race to Nowhere

I recently heard about a film titled “Race to Nowhere“, a call to mobilize families, educators, and policy makers to challenge current assumptions on how to best prepare the youth of America to become healthy, bright, contributing and leading citizens.”

I was particularly interested in the film because the message applies to so many of us who are trying to keep up with the fast pace of our culture and its expectations.

The film features the crushing stories of our youth who have been pushed to their limits, our teachers who are burnt out, and parents who are pushing their children to be the best. The film keys in on common issues that are now pervasive among our children, such as cheating, stress related illnesses, depression, burn out, and disengagement.

We need to maintain a healthy balance, commit to the important values and focus on moderation, not excess.
